Okay, your pantry is SO normal! Your Mom's (sorry) is not. Or maybe I should say average. Mine is much like yours except I have a number of plastic containers now in self defense after discovering I live on a veritable stink ant (thank you for identifying them) NATION. So, pasta that has been opened goes in plastic. But I notice your mom has no ... soup? Tuna? I'm guessing this pic is only a tiny bit of her organization extravaganza. You'll have to share the rest sometime! But first - get the container store to sponsor your post. :)

Mine looks like yours.

I couldn't deal with that type of pantry. It would give me panic attacks just thinking that I needed to keep it like that.

Okay, your pantry is completely normal! Actually, your only mistake is posting it AFTER your mom's heavenly one!

I love your mom's cupboard. In an alternate reality, (where I don't just buy dry goods and kind of set them on the outside edge and shove them inward hoping that there'll be an empty space back there somewhere and stuff will find it's own new spot) I would totally be that organized!

I should take a picture of my dry goods / pantry closet. It's way worse than yours, no worries!

Sigh......
I love your mother.... :)
I wish I had the money to raid the container store, because I totally would. My pantry is not THAT bad, because I have to make so with what I have. And I will freely admit, that makes me a little bit CDO.....

Nope. If a scorpion in my cereal bowl can't make me run, a stupid spider can't either.

Also? I've faced this: http://followingtheroad.com/?p=213 So, I'm glad it was under three inches.

Okay- I'm not going to lie. The last couple of nights I've had trouble forcing myself to get back in bed. And I might have to jump out a few times to shake out the covers and my pajamas. Nothing wrong with that...

Phew...I'm glad everything turned out ok.

I, unknowingly, got bit by a spider a few weeks ago in my sleep. I thought it was just some mosquito bites too...until my entire hand started swelling up. I'm dumb though. I didn't go to the doctor. I took a few benadryl for a week and it got better.

Ick. My Birdie got bit by a spider two weeks ago. She finally said something to me about it the day after she noticed it. By the time she said something it had swollen her ankle to the point of bruising, and it was hard and HOT! I made and then cancelled a doctor appointment when I remembered that she has done this before. it was better by the next day. Just ICK!

I don't know if we live in the same state. I live in California. Do you? This is the recluse that is in my neighborhood: http://www.venombyte.com/venom/spiders/desert_recluse.asp

Recluse is a family of spiders, not one specific spider. The Desert Recluse isn't as well known as the Brown Recluse, but it is basically the same thing without the distinctive violin mark. I researched them when I first moved here and started seeing them (and freaking out about the giant ugly things). We've definitely got a population of them. And you probably do too. Or you've got some other type of Recluse. Not that I'm trying to scare you or anything...

Hrm. That's all very strange. And I am under the impression you are in the same state I am in and if that's true then there are no known reproducing populations of recluses. Yet, from what I understand, widow bites are very painful and you WOULD know right away, whereas recluses are not painful, you know, until they become necrotic. So, I think I have diagnosed you with a bit from a new kind of spider that no one has ever heard of. Kidding. Either way it's weird, and I am glad you aren't dead. I'm also glad you had cake!
